At the same time, they do not like to be alone and easily get along with other pets. They are not afraid of water.

In nutrition and feeding, it is necessary to focus on the age of the cat, since not only the food itself differs, but also the recommended number of meals. Kittens of this breed are fed 3-6 times a day.Adults can be fed 2-3 times a day.

It is worth remembering that feeds with a high grain content are not recommended. It is better to choose a meat base. It is not necessary to give sour-milk products to savannas, as they can cause the digestive disorder. Just for a changeyou can give some tasty things containing taurine or products that remove wool from its stomach. You should also give cats raw meat.

Breeding

Bengal cats are most often usedfor these purposes. Oriental shorthair, siamese and egyptianmau, mongrel domestic catsare used too. The color of the hybrid depends on the taken breed. Male descendants up to the fourth generation are sterile. The cost of a cat depends on the presence of a percentage of the blood of an africanserval. The first generation of savanna is designated as F1. F1 has 53 % serval blood. Cats of the first generation are most often crossed with bengals. The second generation of savanna is designated as F2. F2 has 29 % servalblood. Further designations are made on the same principle, the larger the number after F, the less serval blood the cat has. If the savanna is crossed again with a serval, then the descendants will have 75-80 % of the serval's blood and will look like a serval. At the same time, they will have the character of a domestic cat.

Life expectancy is 17-20 years.

Сare

It's better to keep savannas in a private home. It requires the maximum space for an active life. "The mini-servals"are able to jump from a place to a height of up to 3 meters and up to 6 meters in length.

These pets do not need special care. It is necessary to comb the fur once a week and regularly clean the ears and eyes. You must have a scratching post and a tray with high sides. Savanna tends to mark its territory, so it is worth having a special spray that removes unpleasant odors.
